Ever since the Jubilee government took over the country's leadership in 2013, President Kenyatta has apparently become a darling to the opposition.

However, for Deputy President, he is a man who has attracted criticism more than any other Kenyan politician in recent times.

The opposition has been criticising DP Ruto over his frequent countrywide tours to his Sunday donations in churches.

The question that has lingered in many minds is, why is Ruto the most criticised politician in Kenya?

According to political analyst Mark Mogane, it is Ruto's fat wallet that has made him the topic of the month in the opposition.

"DP Ruto is hated by the opposition. But for me it is not hatred, it is the fear of his billions that has had tongues talking," Mogane said on Friday, during a morning show at Iftiin FM.

The analyst further claimed that the opposition was sure that 2022 politics will be a battle of billionaires, a thing he stated will give Ruto an upper hand in his presidential bid.

"2022 will be a battle of billionaires. Who doesn't know DP Ruto has a fat wallet? This what opposition fear most," he added.
