The church by Prophetess Mary Akasta is known for its strictness.
The church was in the news in 1988 when 'Jesus Christ' was spotted standing close to Prophetess Akatsa sending worshippers into praying and confession.
It, however, emerged that the man who resembled Christ was not Him but an Asian Missionary on a world tour.

At this church, men are sometimes spotted wearing skirts.
According to Akatsa, she asks men to wear skirts to confuse the devil.
She notes that men often fall into temptations easily and that by wearing skirts, they confuse the devil.
"It is not wrong for men to wear skirts or women clothes, in fact, I encourage them as a way to confuse the devil," she says.
Apart from wearing skirts, men and other worshippers at this church often put on clothes upside down.
She says that it is not right to be doing things the same way all the time, noting that wearing clothes upside down is one of the ways to keep the devil away.
On Sundays, passing through Gatina Road in Kawangware, you will find Jerusalem church worshippers at the church entrance clad in different colours and waiting for the prophetess to open the gates.
Church service here runs from 9 in the morning and ends at 9 o'clock in the evening.
Prophetess Akasta boasts of performing miracles and healing the sick.
The church has approximately one million followers across the country.
