Although he has been moving across the county, the DP has insisted often that his trips are developmental in nature.

But in a phone interview with the reporter. Bosire accused Ruto of plotting to scuttle the famous handshake despite Uhuru's commitment to secure unity.

"We are not in a political competition . It is tragic to think the handshake is aimed at curtailing his presidential ambitions.

"It is important for him (Ruto) to give handshake a chance. His persistent politicking and scolding Raila is not good for the country and to some extent, its undermining the president," he said.

Lately, a section of Rift valley leaders have openly accused Raila of allegedly hijacking the unity deal to undermine Ruto's 2022 bid.

But according to Bosire, attempts to sabotage the historic deal by Ruto should be treated with contempt since they amount to belittling the president.
