Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has hit out at National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale for plotting against Sarah Serem's ambassadorial nomination.

This comes after Duale threatened to oppose the nomination of Serem, who is the former Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) chair, as Kenya's Ambassador to China.

In what has been perceived as a revenge mission, Duale threatened to teach Serem a lesson, arguing that the 11th Parliament suffered during Serem's tenure as SRC chair, following her move to decline to increase the MPs' salary.  

"Mr Speaker, those members who were in the 11th Parliament and even those in the 12th Parliament, you know how we have been reduced in terms of leadership scale in the country. What the Parliament went through under Sarem... and God is great I have another opportunity to discuss and vet her again. She didn't know she will be nominated for a position that needs vetting," said Duale.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Kuria defended Serem, telling her to ignore Duale's threats and prepare to take up her new role in China.

The move by Kuria to defend Serem has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans, with a section of them praising the MP for standing up for the former SRC chair.  Here are some of the reactions:
