Secretary for Innovation Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President Dennis Itumbi has renewed calls to have Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i charged over Ruaraka land.
Dr Matiang'i was absolved of any wrongdoing in the sale of Sh1.5 billion Ruaraka land despite preliminary investigations showing that it was public land.
On Friday, Itumbi accused DCI and EACC of applying double standards in the fight against corruption, calling for the prosecution of the Interior CS.
In a swipe targeting the two bodies, he sarcastically said that he will ensure the information is posted in a Tangatanga WhatsApp group.
"One day, Maybe, @DCI_Kenya & @EACCKenya Will drop the double standards & charge CS @FredMatiangi of @InteriorKE for selling to GOK #RuarakaLand that already belonged to GOK for a few billions. I am not holding my breath. Until of course, it gets to a TangaTanga WhatsApp group!" he said.
In his defence back in 2018, Matiang'i dismissed the probe as a waste of time, insisting that he never did any wrong.
“I have an inflexible belief in doing the right thing at all times, no matter what. We will focus on what we have to do, and ignore the noisemakers,” Dr Matiang’i had said at the Intercontinental Hotel.
