Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has shared his thoughts on the ongoing Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) debate. Through a Facebook post on Sunday, the vocal county boss cited two major issues on BBI
According to Mandago who is a close ally of DP William Ruto, is an against idea of creating regional governments noting that counties should be allocated more resources instead.
The 2nd term governor started that the resource should go deeper to the common person.
"The Economic Blocs formed by counties should be used as baits to spur economic growth instead of introducing regional Governments. If we allow this, we will set a wrong precedent that will be used badly in the future. When my constitutional term expires, I will leave the office and go do other businesses." Governor Mandago wrote.
Furthermore, Mandago noted honest recommendations should be brought up. BBi rallies are currently being and expected to done countrywide.
"Again, the Commission for Revenue Allocation (CRA) should be empowered to the final say on the number of funds to Counties. BBI should address such to strengthen devolution, we need to bring honest recommendations if BBI is to serves its rightful intentions," he added.
