Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru has weighed in on the newly unveiled Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Speaking in an interview on KTN's 'Pointblank' program hosted by Tony Gachoka, the county boss held the view that the country would not be the same after the BBI report is implemented.
She said that the initiative would fundamentally alter the country's political landscape.
"This country is in a very significant moment. This country will not be the same post BBI," Waiguru said as quoted in a tweet by KTN News.
The Kirinyaga governor was one of the proponents of the BBI as she moved around the country trying to build support for the document.
President Uhuru Kenyatta unveiled the document about two weeks ago at the historic Bomas of Kenya.
He urged Kenyans to make a point of reading the document for themselves.
At issue is how the document will be adopted with a section vouching for Parliament to debate and adopt it.
Another section wants a referendum saying it is the only way that the Kenyan people can own the document.
Among those against a parliamentary adoption is former prime minister Raila Odinga.
The BBI was a brainchild of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga after their dramatic handshake on the steps of Harambee House in 2018.
