Opposition leader Raila Odinga has once again fired shots at Members of County Assembly from Homabay County.
The county has been marred with unending rows pitting a section of the members and Speaker Elizabeth Ayoo.
Speaking during the homecoming ceremony of Rangwe lawmaker Lilian Gogo in the same county on Saturday, Raila called for an end of the rows.
He urged the members who were recently involved in a physical fight in the house to address their differences in a mature and civilised manner.
"You cannot solve your differences by fighting. Be mature and follow the law," he was quoted by the Nation.
He also bashed some ward representatives of using underhand methods to obtain privileges and favors from top county officials.
Raila condemned the unnamed leaders for using their positions to benefit themselves rather than the electorate.
“Some MCAs have made a habit of asking for money before they pass anything. They should be ashamed of themselves. Their role is to work for the people, not their pockets,” he added.
Raila also rooted for the reduction of wards in line with the push to reduce wage bill.
The Homabay assembly row has since seen Ayoo ousted over allegations of incompetence and bias.
She was in October impeached by the majority members before the Kisumu Labour Relations Court reinstated her stay.
Majority of the members in the house are in office on Raila's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
