In a statement on Friday, the DPP also ordered for the arrest of Nairobi County Principal Account Philomena Nzuki, senior Procurement Officer James Kaguma and Senior Finance and planning officer Fredrick Mwangi.

Also to be arrested is businessman Raphael Maluki who owns the Primara Ventures, a company that allegedly failed to supply books despite getting payments.

The DPP said that the county officials procured for the books which were never delivered yet payments were made.

Haji in the statement shared on his official Twitter handle said the books were to be procured for the county assembly resource center in the 2016/2017 financial year.

“The investigations by the DCI established that the said tender was never advertised and quotations used during the process were irregularly prepared,” the DPP said in the statement.

The DPP asked the DCI to arrest the suspects as his office prepares for the charges.

The suspects will be arraigned in the anti-corruption court on Monday.

The order for arrest comes three weeks after former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero and nine other former county officials were arrested and charged in court over corruption offenses.
