Former Kathiani Member of Parliament (MP) Wavinya Ndeti has condoled with the family of a Kakamega woman who died weeks after giving birth to five babies.
Speaking on Citizen TV Kenya Day Break Show on Tuesday, Ndeti expressed sadness at the woman’s death.
The former lawmaker said doctors should have taken more care of the mother now deceased.
She argues that the woman’s death could have been avoided.
“Giving birth to 5 children is no joke and the doctors should have taken more care of the mother,” she said during the interview.
The Wiper Party politician added, “I gave birth to my first born in the UK and the doctors used to come to my house just to check if the baby and I are doing okay.”
Everline Namukhula died on Sunday at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital after complaining of heart complications.
The 28-year-old is said to have complained of chest pains on Saturday night before being rushed to hospital where she died.
Two weeks ago, the deceased lost two of her five babies she delivered at the Kakamega County Referral hospital.
On Monday, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino offered to support the family of the deceased.
The vocal legislator said that he will take care of the remaining three babies.
