Months after clashing over constitutional changes to pave way for new governance structure, DP William Ruto has yet again differed with Raila Odinga over development.
Last week, Raila insisted that the country was losing millions to graft war adding that Jubilee should stop borrowing.
"We are losing a lot to corruption yet we are also borrowing excess. This culture must stop," he said.
The country is battling to come to terms over hiked fuel prices which have generally affected other sectors of economy.
But in a rejoinder, Ruto insisted that most of the money was being pumped into development contrary to Odinga's claims.
“Those claiming that the money being collected in taxes is being lost through corruption are misleading Kenyans.
"The Jubilee government is capable and responsible about what we intend to do for this country,” he said.
Until now, President Uhuru Kenyatta has remained mum on implementation of 16% VAT on fuel despite arriving in the country on Monday.
While Uhuru is keen with war against graft, Ruto maintains that graft in government could have been exaggerated.
Hundreds of government officials have been hounded out of the office on graft allegations as detectives intensify crackdown.
