A raid at a senior government official's aide's house precipitated an urgent meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and detectives on Friday, it has emerged.

Hours before his Washington DC trip on Friday, Uhuru convened a meeting at State House and Harambee House where he asked detectives to act.

"The President was furious about the raid that was carried out of Wednesday at one of the aide to a senior politician.

"I am told Sh500 million cash money in Kenyan currency and dollars were recovered," said a senior Jubilee politician who spoke on confidence.

At the meeting with Muilti-Agency Task Team, a furious Uhuru asked detectives to arrest culprits adding that he was ready to lose friends.

On Sunday, the Standard reported that the secret raid has sent shock waves within government and Uhuru feels betrayed.

"The President feels betrayed by his lieutenants and friends. He is willing to leave a good legacy," a source told the Standard.

On Monday, reports emerged that detectives could arrest a Supreme Court Judge in connection with corruption, a further indication of an impending serious graft crackdown.
