Unlike last year when Kisumu Girls High School (KGHS) was among the 100 top Schools in the County, this year the School is missing in action.

The Institution regarded a giant girls' School in academics in Luo Nyanza has no candidate in the top 100 list nationally.

In 2017 KCSE results, KGHS was ranked at position 58 nationally with a mean score of 57.7.

Over 200 students who sat for KCSE at the School got a nod to join Public Universities after registering excellent results.

Among the 285 students who sat for the exam at the school last year, 18 scored A-minus, 39 B plus, 64 B plain, 47 B minus, 61 C plus, 36 C plain, 14 C minus, and 6 D plus.

Perhaps this year’s results can be linked to a strike witnessed at the School in July.

The National School was closed indefinitely in early July after students went on the rampage over claims of religious discrimination by the school management among other issues.

They allegedly destroyed the principal's house and vandalized her car, besides stoning the administration block and dining hall hence breaking window panes in the process.
