Opposition chief Raila Odinga has been arguably the most popular politician in the country over several years but there's one seat that has literally eluded him, the presidency.
According to Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago, Raila has never been president because he does not support church development activities through harambees.
Raila has been on record hitting out at other leaders over their involvement in harambees where they give out huge sums of money.
"By them refusing to help build churches this is what has cost them the presidency since they have stolen from God and they will continue being in the opposition until they discover the benefits of giving," said Mandago.
“Recently I heard the opposition leader Raila Odinga condemning the deputy president for always donating funds to churches through Harambees, why are they so bitter when one assists churches yet it’s not their money,” he added.
Mandago said politicians are free to go round the country holding fundraisers to support church development activities as it enables them to get blessings from God.
Deputy President William Ruto has several of his allies are well known for engaging in fundraisers where they give out millions of shillings for church building activities.
