American based Kenyan human Rights defender Prof Makau Mutua has shared his sentiments saying the deputy President Dr.William Ruto sees far like a giraffe rating him as a clever and strategic politician.
Prof. Mutua's remarks are as a result of the proclamation made by the deputy President while in the United Kingdom addressing the Chatham House when he said the constitutional change should focus majorly on creating the position of the Official Opposition leader who will have emerged second in the presidential contest.
Prof Mutua on Tuesday evening through his twitter post said the deputy president has already seen the writings on the wall regarding his ambitions to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022
"DP William Samoei Ruto has seen the writing on the wall. The man sees far like a giraffe," tweeted Mutua.
Prof.Makau further claimed that Dr.Ruto is fully aware that his chances of emerging a victor in 2022 are futile making him change the tune on constitutional reforms and referendum calls.
"He knows he will lose the race for President in 2022. That’s why he wants the constitution changed by referendum so that it can create the official leader of the opposition for him," added Prof Mutua.
The country's second in command seeks to succeed his boss despite facing 'rebellion' from amongst his own party members led by the former Jubilee party vice chair David Murathe.
