A section of university students selected from across Nyamira County went physical on Friday over Sh100, 000 given by a local Member of Parliament.

Mr Ben Momanyi of Borabu stormed in a meeting organised by students from the county where he addressed the students at Viongozi Senta before leaving for another function.

But chaos erupted minutes after his departure as the students differed on how to share the money without discrimination hundreds who had turned out.

With the number approximated at 500, organisers struggled to satisfy all those who attended thus leading to chaos that left several scampering for safety.

Police manning the facility however, managed to restore order and only those who braved the hard tackles managed to get fare back home, even though some still walked out without any coin.

In an interview, Mr Momanyi however dismissed the chaos, only insisting that those who orchestrated the chaos were under instructions from his competitors.

"I just gave them something for Christmas and they were much organised. Those perpetuating chaos were detractors sent by my political enemies.

"The good thing is that the meeting ended well and I am happy we shared. We can't allow small misunderstanding to eclipse the entire event," he said.

Earlier, Nyamira County FKF aspiring chairman Mr Luthers Mokua had addressed the gathering in the company of several other emerging leaders from the county.
