Fresh details have emerged over an attempt by a top Jubilee politician to sneak in deadly bees to Pinecone Hotel in Kisumu on Wednesday this week.
An angry Thaddius Nyabaro, a second term Ekerenyo MCA, was blocked from entering the room in which his colleagues were holding a meeting by hawk-eyed security forces.
Assembly Sergeant-at-arms Mr George Angwenyi said the MCA had almost managed to enter the room with his soul purpose being disrupting the meeting.
"We noticed him carrying a sack and we could clearly see bees. He retreated and put the sack inside a bag but still, he didn't manage to unleash," he said.
Wrangles in the county assembly of Nyamira have escalated with two factions emerging; one in support of Speaker Moffat Teya while another one in support of ousted deputy speaker Duke Omoti.
An MCA who spoke in confidence said Mr Nyabaro was targeting his Itibo counterpart Mr Nyanchama, claiming that they were quarrelling over a woman.
"He wanted to unleash bees on Nyanchama. I understand that they are fighting over some lady. The two don't see each other eye to eye and that's a fact," he said.
Mr Teya has been struggling to stamp authority in the county assembly and at times, a section of his critics have tried to sneak in a vote of no confidence motion.
