Renowned lawyer and social media commentator Ahmednasir Abdullahi has weighed in on the Sagana State Lodge meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and political leaders from Mt Kenya region.
In a tweet on Saturday, the flamboyant lawyer held the view that the Head of State's speech during the high profile meeting was measured, wise, and forward-looking.
According to Ahmednasir, the address was deliberately tailored to appeal to everyone in the room and not antagonise anyone.
He argued that by engaging the political leaders from his Mt Kenya backyard, the president had helped lower the country's political temperatures.
"I think H.E UHURU'S address to the GEMA community at SAGANA was measured, wise, calculated and progressive. He gave something to everyone and pivoted to the epicentre, politically. He lowered the temperature considerably and emerged as the quintessential statesman," the renowned lawyer said.
The Sagana State Lodge meeting came days after media reports that the president had cancelled his meeting in Muranga after it emerged that Deputy President Dr William Ruto also had a meeting in the county.
In meeting the leaders, President Uhuru sought to allay the concerns that some of the leaders have about the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) whose report he is set to receive alongside veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga.
