Opposition leader Raila Odinga has once again met another top official from President Uhuru Kenyatta's government.
The former Prime Minister on Friday met and held talks with Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa at his (Raila) offices in Capitol Hill, Nairobi.
The meeting was however not political and had everything to do with the forthcoming African Cities Summit (Africities) set for Kisumu in 2021.
Raila said that there will be some beautification needs to be done in Kisumu ahead of the conference, calling upon both governments to join hands in funding the same.
"There will be a lot of investments needed in terms of finances that will be needed to pull this through," said Raila.
On his side, Wamalwa said that the team which also includes Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyongo who also attended the meeting seeks to clear the lake ahead of the summit.
"We are together to realize that the lake is beautiful when the world visits Kisumu. We want to clear the hyacinth and enhance transport across the lake," said the CS.
Nyongo said that the summit will determine the future of the entire continent.
Raila has been meeting top state officials since his truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta in March 9 last year.
