Western leaders have vowed to work together in a bid to front a presidential candidate from the region in 2022.
They said it's time for them to swallow their pride for them to clinch the presidency which has evaded them for decades.
"As Luhya leaders from today, we will now speak in one voice. If Wetangula or Eugene gets it, I will also have gotten it and we should forget this nonsense that Luhya's can never be united. It will not be business as usual," said ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi.
The leaders spoke during the memorial service of Masinde Muliro at his home in Sibanga Trans Nzoia County on Wednesday.
"Mudavadi, Eugene and I have decided to work together since if we want to form a coalition with other people from other counties, we must first put our house in order," said the Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.
They said that anyone who will not embrace the Luhya unity and go to other coalitions will face the wrath of the electorate come 2022.
"This time around let support our own. Who said that Luhya's cannot produce president? Leaders from the region should refrain from going out there saying Wetangula, Mudavadi and myself can never lead the country but instead should support us, " said Devolution CS.
They urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to continue the fight against corruption and that those involved should be arrested and charged despite their political affiliation.
