Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Sunday showed off his boxing skills while in Malindi.
In viral videos shared on social media, Joho was seen in a high-class hotel in a company of Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir and boxing trainers.
The governor in a white short, army-like t-shirt branded with his 001 logo and red boxing gloves, was making deadly punches like a practising boxer.
He also showed skills in dodging punches from the trainer, clearly indicating that he is an experienced boxer who is just not taking part in a competition
Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir who was also taking part in the training was heard complaining how a day off from job had landed him in a serious boxing training.
Nassir took to Instagram stories and shared a number of videos showing how the training unfolded.
"We have come in Malindi to relax but the race this guy is taking me through (tumekuja Malindi watu wapumzike kidogo, napelekwa mbio hizi, na huyu)," Nassir was heard complaining.
Joho then challenged the MP to train hard if he wants a job in Mombasa.
"You looked for a job from Mvita residents, now you want a job from Mombasa residents, there is no relaxing, you should know how to take cover, if it is bad it should be bad, (ulitafuta kazi kwa watu wa Mvita, sasa watafuta kazi kwa watu wa Mombasa, hakuna kupumzika, lazima ujue kudefend, kama noma noma, kama mbaya mbaya)," Joho said.
It believed that Abdulswamad Nassir is eying to suceed Joho once his term expires in 2022.
