A scholar identified as Patrice Carter, a research nutritionist and lead author explains that the are several and endless benefits that come with eating spinach and cabbages more often.
"There are several possible mechanisms that could explain the benefit of consuming green leafy vegetables in the diet," notes the expert.
After conducting research on the possible effects of these leafy vegetables, it was established that the consumption of them have a positive impact on the body by lowering the risk of developing diabetes.
"Results from our meta-analysis support recommendations to promote the consumption of green leafy vegetables in the diet for reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes.
When it comes to prevention of type 2 diabetes, lifestyle plays a major role, Carter notes.
