Director of Criminal Investigation George Kinoti has asked Sarah Wairimu, the widow of billionaire Tob Cohen, to serve him with contempt papers.
On Tuesday, Wairimu reportedly obtained contempt of court orders that requires the state to give Kinoti a six months civil jail for disrespecting orders.
According to her, Kinoti and journalist John Kamau have continued to give media statements over Cohen's murder despite an order barring them by Justice Jessie Lessit.
Through lawyer Donald Kipkorir on Thursday, Kinoti said he has not been served with the application by the complainant. However, he admits that he's out of the country.
"At the moment he is out of the country on official assignment, but read online that you filed a contempt proceedings against him," his lawyer Donald Kipkorir said.
"He has inquired from his office and they confirmed that you haven't served them with the alleged application. You should serve us with the said application."
Ms Wairimu is the chief suspect in the Cohen's murder probe. She allegedly gave contradicting information following the disappearance of Cohen.
Wairimu said that the "sustained media campaign against her is part and parcel of a large elaborate scheme by Kinoti, who has custody of her matrimonial property, to unlawfully appropriate her matrimonial home and hand it over on a silver platter to interested parties, including the siblings of the deceased".
Former Gatundu North MP Patrick Muiruri claimed that the deceased billionaire had expressed fears, arguing that he said Cohen accused his wife of plan to kill him.
