The Nakuru gubernatorial seat remains one of the most attractive slots in the entire county, and will attract many hopefuls in the 2022 general polls.
This will, therefore, be a challenge to incumbent Governor Lee Kinyanjui, who will obviously be seeking to defend it.
Here are some of his possible challengers for the seat come 2022;
1. Susan Kihika
The Nakuru Senator is currently ranked among the most popular leaders in the county, and will most likely make an attempt to utilize that for political elevation in 2022.
Capitalising on the love and admiration by the youth, a privilege that facilitated her direct win in the previous poll, she will cause nightmares to Lee should she run for the seat.
2. Kinuthia Mbugua
The immediate former governor is currently the State House comptroller, after losing to Kinyanjui in the Jubilee primaries in 2017.
Having enjoyed the privileges of leadership as the first governor of Nakuru, he will surely be back to make an attempt at recapturing the post.
3. Madaraka Mwithaga
The long-time parliamentary aspirant is yet to succeed in electoral politics, after failing in 2017 when he took a shot at the senatorial seat.
He is the Son of former renowned Nakuru politician and ex-lawmaker Mark Mwithaga. Madaraka is most likely to come back stronger in 2022.
