Kenyan celebrities, particularly in the media industry, took to social media on the better part of Saturday evening to expose a Self-proclaimed Kenyan brand strategist Wilkins Fadhili Odinga as a conman.
Led by BBC Africa business editor, Larry Madowo, they warned Kenyans to avoid Mr. Fadhili who they accused of masquerading as the brain behind their success stories.
Fadhili had on Saturday made a post on his Twitter account boasting of how his mentorship skills had propelled Larry Madowo to great heights in his carrier.
In a quick rejoinder, Madowo distanced himself from the Mr. Fadhili whom he castigated for using his success story to lure unsuspecting individuals into his trap.
K24’s Betty Kyallo also slammed Mr. Fadhili whom she accused of bragging of being the brain behind her success story in the media industry and prosperity of Flair by Betty brand business.
Radio presenter Adelle Onyango and popular music group Elani also joined the bandwagon with similar accusations about Mr. Fadhili who featured severally as the youth mentor on Safaricom’s youth mentorship network, Blaze. He also featured in Business Daily’s Top 40 under 40.
When the pressure mounted on him and revelations about his dirty and murky deals continued to pour on social media, Fadhili took to his Facebook page and regretted the blunder: “Goodbye, I’ve made mistakes and life has no meaning at all, bye everyone.”
He also apologized to BBC’s Larry Madowo for the mistake blaming it on his social media manager.
Fadhili had previously caused a stir on Twitter when he sensationally told a local daily that he used to make at least Ksh. 30,000 daily by cooking 3000 chapatis each day to pay for his masters in the United Kingdom.
This revelation left more questions lingering about his academic credentials.
