Flanked by Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi and accompanied by his wife, Idah,Odinga held a housewarming party for his new Nyali home which has been painted with Egyptian blue and white colours in solidarity with Governor Ali Hassan Joho's directive.

An order by the County government directed that all residential and commercial buildings in the Central Business District (CBD) be painted Egyptian-blue and white.

The public notice was issued to residents by the county administration, directing that all buildings be painted with a uniform colour to symbolize the Indian Ocean.

The Mombasa County Administration through the Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works CeC Tawfiq Balala, warned that it will take those who will not comply with the directive to court.

Odinga later reportedly secretly met Governor Joho, where they reportedly discussed Deputy President William Ruto's frequent trips to the coast before they later secretly met President Uhuru Kenyatta who was on unofficial five-day coast tour which ended on Saturday, July 28.

Joho is said to have left the two in a closed door meeting.
