Addressing media during a prize-giving ceremony at Heshima Primary in Nakuru West, the legislator said county governments should implement the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) they signed with nurses in 2017.

“It is the responsibility of the county governments to implement the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) they signed with nurses in 2017. The strikes in the health sector are too much, something we did not realize before devolution,” said Arama.

The legislator has proposed the health sector be taken back to the national government.

While noting that one of the Big 4 agendas of the Jubilee administration is health, he called on governors to hold talks with the nurses in order to find a lasting solution.

“If counties don’t address the crisis, then we will not be able to realize the big four agenda of health,” said Arama.
