In a tweet on Thursday, Etale took issue with the power supplier's alleged refusal to restore power in his Lugari backyard, leading to a five-day power outage.

He said that the blackout at the Lugari Centre has made life hard for locals, especially those whose livelihoods entirely depend on power.

According to Etale, despite being aware of the issue on the ground, KPLC has remained reluctant to correct the situation.

Etale says that he has since notified the company of the pending lawsuit.

"I have just told the Kenya Power that I am going to sue them for refusing to fix power problem at Lugari Centre. It is now five days and they have done nothing to fix the problem. What they fail to understand is that there’re people who depend on it for a living," he tweeted.

In a separate tweet, he opined that the company is taking advantage of its monopoly, hence its slow response during such instances.

"Problem with a company that has no competitor," he said.
