More trouble is looming in Kisii County following the hint by nurses that they will boycott job in what they termed as being ignored by the county government under the leadership of Governor James Ongwae.
The nurses led by Eric Ruba who doubles as the assistant secretary said Governor Ongwae has failed to honour a promise he made to them.
"We are contemplating job boycott so that our allowances can be paid. The county government is taking nurses for granted. Once we boycott job Ongwae will move with speed to pay nurses their allowances," said Ruba.
Irritated Ruba revealed that the county had agreed to pay uniform allowances of Sh 5,000 in February last year and a monthly of Sh 3,000 but, that has not been done until today.
He accused Governor Ongwae of playing cards with nurses saying no one will succeed to persuade them to resume work once they boycott not until they get their allowances.
"We will boycott work until all the allowances are paid or else residents seeking medical attention at public facilities will find their own alternatives," he noted.
Ruba said Governor Ongwae's orders to the Human Resource and Administration and Finance departments galled on deaf ears.
"HRA and Finance departments have failed to implement the Governor's orders which he issued for us to be paid the allowances," claimed Ruba.
