Tiaty MP Kassait Kamket explained on Thursday the consequences Deputy President William Ruto suffer should it be found out that he "authored his own assassination".
Speaking on Standard Media Group-owned Kenya Television Network, the outspoken legislator said that the deputy president should be held criminally and politically liable.
"If it is found out that the deputy president is the author of his own assassination plot, then he would have to be held criminally and politically liable, " Kamket argued.
Kassait said that ongoing investigations conducted by sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) into the assassination saga had pointed back to the DP's office.
The saga has continued to elicit sharp views from politicians allied to the DP.
DP Ruto's allies have maintained that the assassination threat is real and have called on those behind the alleged plot to be thoroughly investigated.
Government officials from Mt Kenya at the centre of the controversy have rubbished claims that they hatched a plan to eliminate Ruto.
Led by Trade Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, the beleaguered officials said that their meeting at the La Mada Hotel was convened to discuss development matters.
