Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has lashed at Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, accusing him of peddling lies.
In a statement on Wednesday, Dr Mutua had accused Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper party of working with Deputy President William Ruto to undermine President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"However, we want to categorically tell the @WiperMovement that our people are tired of being auctioned to the highest bidder and being used as pawn for the sake of an individual and to enrich a few. For how long will Kenyans follow pretenders and self seekers?" the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader had questioned in a tweet.
But in a rejoinder, Mrs Ndeti, also a former assistant minister insisted that the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Dr Ruto are not in any coalition or arrangement as claimed by Mutua.
"The comments by Alfred Mutua are wild and malicious. There is no Alliance between our Party leader and Deputy President. However there are people like Alfred Mutua who are driving the wild narrative aimed at isolating our Party from working with President Uhuru," she wrote on Twitter.
According to Ndeti who unsuccessfully vied against Mutua in the 2017 Machakos gubernatorial contest, the comments were meant to paint Wiper and Kalonzo in a bad light, contrary to the official positions.
She insisted that Wiper and Kalonzo support BBI and the fight against corruption as promoted by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"Wipers position is well known. We support the BBI and as exemplified by the Party leader's remarks at Bomas where Alfred was desperately voiceless. Our community knows who are the true auctioneers of our PEOPLE'S resources," she said.
"Wipers position in the fight against corruption is well known and our support to President uhuru's positon in the fight against corruption is also well known," she added.
Mutua was making reference to former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama who reportedly told Musyi FM that he's leading coalition talks between Kalonzo and Ruto.
