Deputy President William Ruto and his Tanga Tanga brigade will on Saturday be in Kericho County to launch some development projects.
This event will be happening shortly after Ruto and his allies who openly campaigned for Jubilee Party candidate McDonald Mariga in the recently concluded Kibra by-election suffered a blow after ODM's candidate Imran Okoth won the seat.
According to Kipkelion West constituency lawmaker Hillary Kosgei, Ruto will be in his constituency to launch Kebeti-Fort Ternan road and also preside over a bodaboda operators empowerment function.
"His Excellency the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, Dr William Samoei Ruto will visit Kipkelion West on 16th Nov 2019 at 9 am, to commission Kipkelion - Kebeneti - Fort Ternan Road, and preside over boda boda empowerment at Liloch grounds. Other development issues will be addressed on that day, " Kosgei invited Kericho residents.
However, this event is likely to be dominated by Mau evictions debate.
Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony, Senator Aaron Cheruiyot and Belgut MP Nelson Koech have been on the forefront defending the eviction of thousands of families from the highly disputed Mau Forest.
Generally, all Kericho leaders are against the eviction and this debate is likely to emerge as the leaders will present their grievances to DP Ruto who has been silent on the Mau issue.
Kericho County is also one of Ruto's strongholds and 2022 succession politics will not go unmentioned amid the open division in the ruling Jubilee Party.
BBI narrative is also expected to take centre stage at the event.
Ruto is focused on succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta and his allies have vowed to ensure that he takes over the house on the hill come 2022.
