Speaking during a wide-ranging panel discussion on KTN, the commentator claimed Somalia was not acting on its own motion but was being sponsored by western capitalists based in Norway.

He said the capitalists were pumping a lot of money in a bid to ensure that Somalia emerges victorious in the row that geopolitical experts fear could have significant diplomatic ramifications.

"Somali is not acting on it's own motion, they are being sponsored by some capitalists and I understand all of them are based in Norway and they are giving them a lot of support, " the social and political commentator said.

Mr Mokua's intervention into the Somalia-Kenya affair comes in the wake of a bitched attempt by President Uhuru Kenyatta to convince his Somalia counterpart President Farmajo to accept a diplomatic out-of-court settlement of the issue.

In its case filed at the International Court of Justice where the maritime row is being adjudicated, Somalia has accused Kenya of encroaching onto its waters in violation of international law governing international borders.

Analysts have warned that the case could have serious security implications unless it is resolved in a diplomatic manner.

Kenya is involved in an ongoing military effort alongside AMISOM forces in a bid to pacify the war-torn Somalia.
