Popular Kenyan singer Kristoff has broken his silence after being accused of stealing the song 'bash' from an upcoming group identified as Effect Gang.
On his Instagram account on Sunday Kristoff noted that the group was looking for attention by trying to defame them.
He noted that the other group seemed interested in a collabo with him but were using the wrong approach.
"There are more mature and professional ways to seek attention and collabos. Upcoming artists need training and God's wisdom before using words loosely and pursuing public stunts," said Kristoff.
According to effect gang Kristoff stole the original chorus and sampled their beat.
He denied the claims that he stole the song stating that the fact that the group uploaded their song on YouTube a day after him should be proof.
Also, the group's YouTube channel had been created just two days prior to his song's release.
Yvonne Darcq, on the other hand, asked their fans not to believe the lies being circulated.
"Facts over pity, never believe a one-sided story. Kindly refrain from false allegations, we are businessmen/women and artists who have worked hard to get where we are. We do not steal," read her statement.
The song bash featuring Kristoff, Yvonne Darcq and Kristoff was released on Wednesday and has so far gathered views on YouTube.
