Former Nyeri Woman Representative, Priscilla Nyokabi has said that President Uhuru Kenyatta was justified to meet leaders from the Mt Kenya region at the Sagana State Lodge.
In an interview with NTV on Tuesday, she noted that Uhuru used the opportunity to remind the leaders of the danger of sideshows at the expense of development.
"One of the key things in the President’s speech in Sagana was postponing the politics to give the country a good environment for legislation," she said.
She revisited Uhuru's utterances that the Building Bridges Initiative is not about individuals but the entire good of the nation. Nyokabi noted that leaders premising the report on an individual are misled.
"The president said we should not discuss personalities. We should discuss the issues. If we make BBI a conversation about individuals, we miss the point," she divulged.
"The call of prioritization of development agenda is not an idle call, the more we talk about BBI, the less we compete on the international market…We have left Rwanda, which is not even the size of Mt. Kenya, to beat us in the international market," she added.
