Gusii secondary schools do not engage in exam irregularities, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has told Education PS Belio Kipsang.
Matiang'i dismissed Kipsang's claims that Gusii secondary schools are among those that are being monitored by ministry of education on exam cheating.
"I want to tell my friend Mr. Kipsang that his claims that Gusii secondary school engage in exam cheating are false. Kipsang must stop tainting the name of the Gusii schools because learners are committed to ensure they are excelling in final exams," he said.
The former Education Cabinet Secretary said Kipsang must apologize to teachers working in the region since the statement was 'demeaning'.
"Kipsang should make a formal apology to our teachers teaching our children in readiness to final exams because his claims that Gusii schools cheat in exams means teachers are lazy in their work," he noted.
According to Matiang'i, more security officers will be deployed across the country to guard the exams and ensure anyone who engages in exam irregularities is nabbed.
He however, warned teachers against falling into the tricks of cartels who may be out to sell fake exam leakages.
Matiang'i was speaking on Monday at Kereri Girls High school.
