A local politician allied to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has broken his silence over Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i's ouster.
Speaking on Tuesday at Kanunda in Kitutu Chache Constituency, Samuel Omwando who unsuccessfully vied for MP seat during the August 8, 2017 polls said Matiang'i is unbeatable.
He said a section of Jubilee politicians allied to DP Ruto should stop seeking relevance by dragging Matiang'i into the fake gold scam.
"We all know why Matiang'i is being fought. His hard work has sent desperate politicians allied to DP Ruto's 'Tanga Tanga' team ahead of the 2022 polls given that Matiang'i has high chances of taking over President Uhuru Kenyatta," said Omwando.
Omwando said Matiang'i's ouster won't sail through because a section of Jubilee lawmaker didn't appoint him to serve as the interior boss.
"MPs only vetted Matiang'i and they didn't appoint him. It is sad that confused MPs who are now scared about Matiang'i's high rank in government are out to push for Matiang'i's ouster something that won't happen," he stated.
He called on Kisii and Nyamira elected leaders to stand firm with Matiang'i during this time of need.
