Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth has urgently appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to protect agencies tasked with fighting corruption.
Speaking in Murang'a on Sunday, Kenneth said that the rising political temperatures are likely to affect the war against the vice.
He noted that allies of the different politicians have been launching endless attacks against the office of the Director of Public Prosecution, Director of Criminal Investigations and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Kenneth also hailed Uhuru for his firm stand in the war to end corruption before he leaves office.
"I want to appeal to the president again, please protect the agencies that are fighting corruption. This menace should be fought from all fronts. This includes the DPP's office, DCI and even citizens themselves," said Kenneth.
A section of leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto have been faulting Uhuru in his fight against graft.
The leaders claim Uhuru has been targeting the second in command in the war to end the loss of public funds through dubious ways.
The leaders have been faulting the newfound love between the president and African Union High Representative Raila Odinga over the rise in political temperatures in the Jubilee party.
Raila and Ruto have been firing salvos at each other over alleged loss of billions in a number of scandals.
