Addressing them at the scene of the incident, Sonko told them the county government of Nairobi will rebuild the market starting today

The county boss claimed some land grabbers already have title deeds to the land where Toi Market is situated.

An angry Sonko firmly said the individuals will never succeed.

He accused them of being fools, mad, corrupt and added other embarrassing names.

"I came here with a lot of anger. This is not the first time Toi Market is being burned down. I hear some individuals already have title deeds. I want to tell them Toi Market will remain," the angry Sonko said.

As a relief to the victims, Sonko said they are not going to wait for tomorrow to rebuild the market but will begin to do it immediately.

"As Nairobi governor, I am very sorry. We know we need to use this market, it must be rebuilt and not tomorrow but today," he said

ODM leader Raila Odinga had addressed the locals assuring them Toi Market shall be rebuilt.

He linked the incident to corrupt individuals.
