The suspect, Jackson Otieno Sombe, was on Tuesday arraigned over an alleged involvement in the murder, following his arrest on Sunday while with the vehicle believed to have been used to abduct Sharon before her death.

Senior Magistrate Joy Wesonga allowed the police to hold the suspect for 10 more days, to allow detectives handling the issue more time to conclude investigations on the murder, reports the Citizen Digital.

Otieno, a taxi driver, is being associated with the black Toyota Fielder saloon car that was allegedly used to kidnap Sharon and Nation Journalist Barack Oduor in Rongo, Migori County, two weeks ago.

Oduor has since told the press that he managed to escape by jumping off the speeding car, sustaining injuries in the process, while the body of Sharon was later recovered in Kodera Forest, Homabay County, two days later.

Sombe becomes the third suspect to be arraigned over the murder after Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s aide Michael Oyamo and former Homabay Member of County Assembly (MCA) Lawrence Mula.

He was being held at the Migori Police Station before his presentation in court on Tuesday.
