Renowned sports presenter Carol Radull has lashed out at a section of politicians she accused of claiming ownership to the success of World Marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge.
Radull, a Kiss FM presenter, said the politicians did not contribute anything to make Kipchoge a champion, therefore, should not 'scramble' to be associated with him.
In a tweet on Friday, she noted local sportsmen and women were suffering and challenged the leaders to invest in them so they can share in their successes.
"It sickens me to see Kenyan politicians scrambling to be associated with Eliud Kipchoge as if they did anything to make his journey possible. Our sports people are suffering! Invest in sport so you can proudly claim ownership to their success. Nkt," Radull tweeted.
Kipchoge has become the talk of the town ahead of INEOS 1.59 Challenge in which he is attempting to become the first person to run a sub-two hour marathon.
Politicians have been in the forefront in sending messages to the current World Record holder ahead of Saturday morning race.
Deputy President William Ruto has led a group of leaders to Vienna, Austria, to support and cheer the athlete in the historical event.
On his part, President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday made a phone call to Kipchoge to wish him success and assured him the entire country's backing.
