Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko has sent a warning to Government of Kenya (GK) vehicle drivers over double parking in Nairobi.
In a tweet on Monday morning, Sonko cautioned them against double parking in a bid to sell the spaces.
"And these GK vehicle drivers who double park for them to sell (Na hawa ma driver of GK double parking ndivyo wauze) parking space za county we will deal with you....No one is above the Law. The Sh.100 you taking (Hizo 100 Bob mnakula) will cost you to pay 2,500Ksh for clamping and a fine for obstruction," he said.
The flashy city boss also came out to reveal how one can pay for the parking in Nairobi.
"How to pay for parking in Nairobi, avoid car clamp..Dial *235# on your phone. The following message will appear: ‘Welcome to Nairobi City County ePayments’ with six options to choose from," he added.
Sonko is doing everything to decongest the city including positioning parking lots at different places around the city.
However, some people are going against the parking rules and regulations in a bid to get some cash out of it. Sonko has on different situations vowed to deal with lawbreakers in the city in a bid to clean impunity and corruption.
