On Monday January 20, 2020, Charity Faith told Hivisasa how she failed to receive a form one placement letter, even after sitting for her KCPE at Bridge Kigadili Primary School in Nyalenda last year, managing to score 289 marks.

Her mother went ahead to secure a place for her at the Xaverian Secondary school, using the National Education Management Information System (NEMIS) number, and she is now settled in school despite financial difficulties.

In a phone interview with Hivisasa on Tuesday afternoon, Faith’s mother Josephine Onyango confirmed that the 14-year-old girl was admitted in school on Friday, January 24.

“We went and spoke to the Principal who agreed to admit her. We secured some money somewhere and managed to pay half of the fees. The Principal listened to our pleas,” said Onyango.

Onyango who is jobless, continues to appeal to well-wishers to support her daughter’s education.

“She only has one pair of uniform yet she is supposed to have two. She still has no game skit and several text books,” she said.

Faith wants to study hard and become a banker in future.
