Musila unsuccessfully contested for the Kitui gubernatorial seat on August 8, 2017, election after he fell-out with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Musila ditched Kalonzo’s party for Jubilee.

He was recently appointed as the Director of Kenya National Museums by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Musila was born in 1943.

The politician joined active politics in 1997 when he successfully contested for the Mwingi South parliamentary seat and won.

Musila was raised up and schooled in Mwingi for his primary and secondary education.

In 1968, Musila graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Government at the Bishop University, Texas US.

Musila also holds a Diploma in Public Administration from the Kenya Institute of Administration.

Political pundits argue that Musila is not likely to make it back to politics unless he reconciles with Kalonzo.
