Hours after deadly protests on Wednesday at Nyamira, Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has broken silence over the grievances.
For the better part of Wednesday, residents along Nyamira-Endiba road protested over what they called misuse of public resources following awarding of contract to three companies under unclear circumstances.
But in response, while agreeing that the first contractor may have done shoddy job, he however didn't know about introduction of two other contractors.
"From my office, I only know of the first contract worth Sh2.5 million. These other two are strange to me.
"I will pursue the matter and the man behind it must explain. You cannot do things arbitrarily at the expense of people," he said.
The Wiper MP is a close ally of Kalonzo Musyoka and has been pushing for the latter's presidency.
Early this year, he caused a controversy within NASA when he fronted his name to PSC, agaisnt Raila Odinga's wishes.
He has since declared Nyamira gubernatorial candidature and is likely to face former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire and Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i.
The road under question was irregularly allocated a total of Sh9.5 million with the contractors doing same job.
