According to Tomitom, the trio is referred to as 'thieves' after stories emanating from their region asserted that they were engaging in banditry.

"Kenya nzima, Wapokot, Wamarakwet na Waturkana wameharibiwa majina.....kila kona ya nchi ya Kenya (Across the country, Pokot, Marakwet and Turkana tribes have been called bad names.....every corner in Kenya,") argued Tomitom in a video shared on Facebook.

The Woman Rep was speaking at a peace-seeking function in Chesogon, Kerio Valley on Wednesday, where other leaders including Deputy President William Ruto had attended.

She, however, denied allegations that the aforementioned communities were thieves.

"Wezi, ni wezi wale wa kawaida ambao wanabomoa benki kule town. (Thieves refer to those usual ones who break into banks in towns,") the legislator noted.

Furthermore, she vowed to 'sanitize' the names of the three communities by arguing that they love peace, not war and thievery.

On Wednesday, leaders from Kerio Valley region held a climax meeting, where the peace accord was signed to foster unity and harmonious living among the warring communities.
