Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua has reiterated that her dream of becoming the next governor of Kirinyaga is still valid.
Speaking at Kang'aru Primary School in Mwea Constituency on Monday during the funeral service for the mother of a Jubilee politician, Karua said that she is confident that this time around, she will win the seat with a resounding victory.
She alluded that she was rigged out of the position by the incumbent Governor Anne Waiguru and promised to stage a political comeback.
“I had won the seat (in 2017 polls) but everyone in the region knows what transpired. I'm still determined to capture the seat come next elections,” she said.
During the same event, Kirinyaga Senator, Charles Kibiru challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to pull up his socks in the war against graft. He lamented that the country continues to lag behind in terms of development because a few individuals have decided to be self-centred.
The lawmaker said that unless the President rises to the occasion, it is not going to be easy for the taxpayers, adding that Kenyans are tired of dealing with scandals every now and then.
