The Environmental and Lands court in Kisumu, however, declined to stop the clean up at Kachok  and allowed the county government to go on with the evacuation process.

Currently, the dumpsite is on the process of being relocated to Kajulu in Kisumu East Constituency.

The evacuation process has rendered a number of street families including an 85-year-old man homeless as they have been residing at the waste site.

Reports indicate that the old man started staying at the site when he was 36 years old.

The old man who was identified as Isaac Caleb Hasava from Vihiga county requested the county government for assistance following the relocation.

"I come from Vihiga county and have lived here almost my entire life," he stated.
