A 85-year-old woman lost her life after she was hit by a motorcycle along Kithyoko-Yendei road near Kithyoko health centre in Masinga sub-county, Machakos county.
According to Mashua Juma Masinga OCPD is that the elderly woman was crossing the road when the accident happened. He said that the woman was first attended to at Kithyoko health centre before being transferred to Mwingi level four hospital where she died on the way.
Juma confirmed that the police have arrested the motorcyclist who caused the accident where he is held at Matuu police station awaiting to appear in court on Wednesday.
He went on to caution motorist to be vigilant while on the road as many road carnages in the sub-county have been involving motorcycles. The body of the woman was taken to Matuu median mortuary.
