According to a human rights activist from Gusii region, Maraga should drop his hard stance and start working on weekends to ensure pending cases more especially graft cases are cleared.

Thomas Osoro, who is the Rigena Human rights watch chairman told the press in Kisii town on Monday that courts should be operation seven (7) days in a week.

"Maraga should stop being lazy by boycotting job on weekends. I'm appealing to him to ensure courts are operational seven days a week so that pending cases to be heard and be determined in time," said Osoro.

Furious Osoro regretted why the courts should remain closed during weekends yet police officers keeps on arresting suspects on Fridays when it is almost weekend.

"Impunity in the police force must stop because once suspects are arrested they must be arraigned in court within 24 hours. Suspects who are arrested on Friday evening should be taken to court on Saturday since it is against someone's right to be kept in the police cells for over 24 hours," he added.
